The Basic Skills module encourages development of the Start Sailing skills. A small amount of previous sailing experience is required, but this can be dinghy or yacht based.

By the end of the course you should feel confident enough to handle a small yacht in light conditions. It is an ideal course to upgrade previous dinghy experience to the different skills of yacht sailing.

For absolute beginners, the module can be combined with a Start Sailing module over a full week course to provide a sound introduction to most aspects of yacht sailing.
